I have been testing out the different migration strategies for SharePoint Portal Server 2003 to MOSS 07’. I have been doing it within VM’s, and unfortunately, things started to get a little slow, and I eventually ran out of hard disk space on my host. I went out and bought myself a couple of new toys! The first one is a Western Digital, 400GB Sata II hard drive! Nice and big, and should suit nicely for VM storage, and as a backup device. The second thing I bought was a CoolMaster X-Craft SataII hard drive enclosure. This thing is totally awesome! It has USB2.0 and eSata support with an eSata adapter (allows you to connect to your desktop machine directly via the Sata interface – cool!) This thing is lightning fast, performs well, VERY quiet, and it has the looks to back it up: There are three models of X Craft external enclosure: IDE to USB 2.0, IDE to USB 2.0 & IEEE1394a and SATA to eSATA & USB 2.0. It supports any 3.5″ IDE HDD up to 500G and 10000RPM or any 3.5″ SATA HDD up to 500G and 10000RPM.Built-in USB 2.0 hub with MultiTRAK™ technology provides One Transaction Translator Per Port for each USB device, which ensures the best performance from the computer system and guarantees not to waste any one bit of the total 480Mbps data transfer rate while linking to the computer USB host. Moreover, the X Craft has P&G Back up System built-in. With X Craft in hands, external enclosure is not only a stylish box but a fulfillment to digital life & smart management.Tool-free and professional HDD cooling designs ingeniously create hassle-free installation and address the HDD over-heating concern. Undoubtedly, the all new X Craft external hard drive enclosure is your dream come true for the most stylish and convenient storage solution.
